Enjoyment of reading encouraged through ‘Reading Buddies’ programme

Our Reading Buddies programme at Shrewsbury Academy is now in full flow! Year 10 and Year 11 students have trained to become ‘Literacy Leaders’ and are now paired up with our Year 7 and Year 8 students to develop their enjoyment of reading and become role models for these cohorts. Our Literacy Leaders are brilliant leaders and are using their training to support our younger students and lower school are really enjoying the process of having a reading buddy. We really hope this programme will go from strength to strength with our Literacy Leaders creating new projects around reading!
