Uniform
Students currently in Year 7-11
We want our students to be smartly and sensibly dressed, and despite fashion trends we aim to have a uniform which is practical, comfortable and fit for purpose, but also reflects the ethos and values of the school. We also want our students to be proud of their uniform and their school. It is widely accepted that a uniform improves a child’s attitude to work and allows them to focus on learning, rather than their appearance.
A uniform also helps prepare our students for the world of work, ‘dressed for business’; the business being that of learning. Also, a uniform reduces socio-economic differences and instances of bullying based on appearance.
We want to provide you with as much information as possible to make the correct purchases. Our guidelines are here.
Adaptations may be made to the uniform for medical, disability or religious reasons. If parents/carers wish to discuss this, please contact the school.
How students dress for school is an important part of how they behave and helps to set the right expectations and standards as a community. Any student failing or refusing to follow these guidelines will be sent home or isolated until they are able to do so.
