Forest School within our school community

We are delighted that Forest School will be continuing on the Shrewsbury Academy site. Mrs Currie spent lots of time with Miss Holland from Sundorne Infants last term and is thrilled to be continuing her vision for Forest School within our community.

This term we are hoping to open up Forest School to our students and allow them to take ownership of developing the site into a thriving area of biodiversity. We want to develop in our students a sense of community, contentment, challenge, play, creativity and exploration through nature based progressive education.

Last week, Mrs Currie and Miss Johnson “rescued” a hedgehog from part of our site that was unsuitable and released it into its new home. We look forward to updating you all on our Forest School journey and there are many exciting activities ahead.
