Key Stage 4 Implementation
Features of the Key Stage 4 Curriculum (Years 10-11)
• All students follow a programme of personal, social, health education (PSHE). This includes elements of British values, Relationship and Sex education, political, religious, careers and personal finance education. This is taught by the student’s form tutor and will be supplemented by content specialists where appropriate.
• In Years 10 and 11 all students follow a core curriculum, which includes: English Language, English Literature, Combined Science, Mathematics, Geography or History and Physical Education.
• There are two pathways for students to follow; a Languages pathway and a non-Languages pathway. The Languages pathway includes the core subjects, Spanish and one free option choice. The non-Languages pathway includes the core subjects and two free option choice.
• With both pathways students have the opportunity to opt for courses in Art, 3D in Art and Design, Creative i-Media, Design & Technology, History, Geography, Media Studies, Film Studies, Spanish, Music, Dance, Drama, Travel & Tourism, Triple Science, RE, Sports Studies, Food Preparation & Nutrition, Textiles, Photography and Child Development.
