Working alongside The Marches Academy Trust we are developing a model to recentre Shrewsbury Academy at the heart of our community, starting with a really ambitious transition model. From September we will be offering a unique approach to transition for our new Year 7 students called ‘The Shore’. Here, students will have their own exclusive space to build their own careful sense of belonging and connection, with a tailored curriculum to ease and soften the move from key stage two to key stage three.

The Shore at Shrewsbury Academy will be based in the Haughmond Building where students will experience a caring and nurture filled start to life at SA.  All form time activities will take place in The Shore, alongside all Humanities lessons, Literacy and Numeracy interventions and Phonics work. Students in The Shore will also be able to take all their social time in this space enabling a ease of transition into the main building of the school.
