Key Stage 3 Implementation
Features of the Key Stage 3 Curriculum (Years 7-9)
• All students follow a programme of personal, social, health education (PSHE) that includes elements of British values, relationship and sex education, political, careers and personal finance education. This is taught by the student’s form tutor on a weekly basis.
• All students follow the statutory programmes of Religious and Physical Education.
• In addition to a core of Mathematics, Science and English, all students follow courses in Art, Textiles, Design & Technology, Expressive Arts, ICT, Humanities and Spanish.
• In Year 7, some students will follow a slightly altered nurture pathway, where they will study Literacy and Numeracy in addition to their core Mathematics and English. This is to support the development of essential reading, comprehension, oracy and number skills.
• There is a full extra-curricular programme available to all students during the lunch break, before and after school. This is available to view on our Clubs and Enrichment section of the website.
